How to remove tire lettering without damage
Swapping a look or reselling the car? Remove raised-rubber tire lettering cleanly with heat and a plastic edge — no residue, no marks.

Changing a look, prepping for resale, or just done with a set? Raised-rubber tire lettering comes off cleanly if you soften the adhesive first instead of ripping it dry.
1. Warm the letters
Play a hair dryer or low heat gun over each letter for 20–30 seconds until the rubber is warm to the touch. Warm adhesive releases; cold adhesive tears and leaves residue.
2. Lift with a plastic edge
Slide a plastic razor or an old gift card under one corner and work it along the letter. Keep the tool flat to the sidewall so you don’t gouge the rubber.
3. Clean off residue
Any adhesive left behind wipes off with isopropyl alcohol or an adhesive remover. Finish with soap and water so the sidewall is ready for a fresh set.
Reusing letters
Individual letters are single-use — the adhesive won’t re-bond reliably once removed. Order a fresh kit for a new look; wholesale buyers can keep spare sets on hand for quick swaps.
